Putte Wandsbek Daycare

The Stadtküken Putte Daycare Center exclusively cares for nursery-age children (ages 0 to 3). There are a total of 6 nursery groups in this facility, providing a safe and nurturing environment for 90 children. After completing the nursery program at Kita Putte, children aged 3 can then transition to the elementary program at the neighboring Kita Mühle.

Our Putte daycare center is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thanks to these family-friendly hours, we offer working parents a great deal of flexibility and daycare coverage throughout the entire workday.

At our Putte daycare center, we support the children using a holistic approach rooted in nature, mindfulness, and active participation. We create a safe and loving environment where children can explore their surroundings with curiosity, actively shape their experiences, and grow while embracing their uniqueness. The day at our Putte daycare center begins in a calm and nurturing atmosphere: Starting at 7:00 a.m., we warmly welcome the children. During a relaxed free-play period, they can settle in at their own pace. By 9:00 a.m. at the latest, all the children are here—then we start the day together with a morning circle that sets the tone for the day. Afterward, we usually head outside: to our nature-filled outdoor area or into the surrounding neighborhood, where the children can explore nature with all their senses. After a fresh, healthy lunch, there’s a time for rest and relaxation. In the afternoon, the children have the opportunity to get creative, play, or participate in exciting, age-appropriate projects. All the children are with us between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.—we use this core time to experience, learn, and grow together. After that, the day winds down individually, depending on pickup time.

The daycare center is located in a sheltered area, set back from the street right next to the Botanical Garden, on the historic mill grounds (address: Ölmühlenweg 33A, 22047 Hamburg). It is thus located on the same grounds as our Mühlenhof Daycare Center and the Mühle Daycare Center, in the midst of a green oasis of well-being. The location is our little “Bullerbü.”

The Putte Daycare Center is accessible via the Ölmühlenweg stop . For example, the Bus Line 9 and other buses that run from the Wandsbek Markt subway station and other stops, heading toward Tonndorf/Rahlstedt, among other destinations. This allows parents to easily reach the area near the daycare center by bus; from the stop, it’s just a few minutes’ walk.

Yes, families are warmly invited to get to know the Putte Daycare Center in advance. It’s important to us that parents and children can explore our facilities at their own pace and get to know our team in person. Expectant parents are also welcome to visit us during pregnancy—and we’re especially happy when they stop by again later with their child. You can easily book a tour using our online tool. Good to know: In Hamburg, every child from their first birthday until they start school has a legal right to a daycare spot or a daycare voucher. This means that at least 5 hours of care per day, including a hot lunch, are guaranteed for all children starting on their first birthday—regardless of whether their parents work.
