Baumpieper Daycare Center - Neugraben-Fischbek

The Baumpieper Daycare Center welcomes a total of 95 children. The children are divided into three nursery groups for the youngest children, ages 0–3 (15 children per group), and two elementary groups for children ages 3–6 (approximately 25 children per group). Our closed-group concept helps ensure that every child feels comfortable and secure and quickly gets used to our regular routines.

Our Baumpieper daycare center is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. With these family-friendly hours, we aim to provide the best possible support to families and ensure that children receive reliable and secure care throughout the day.

At the Baumpieper Daycare Center, we support the children using a holistic approach characterized by a connection to nature, mindfulness, and active participation. We create a loving environment where children can explore their surroundings with curiosity, develop their own ideas, and grow at their own pace.

The day at our Baumpieper daycare center begins gently and calmly. Starting at 7:00 a.m., we welcome the children and give them space during free play to settle in at their own pace. By 9:00 a.m. at the latest, all the children are together, and we begin with a morning circle that sets the tone for the day ahead.

After that, we usually head out into nature: to our spacious outdoor area or to the green surroundings of Neugraben-Fischbek, where the children can experience nature and the changing seasons with all their senses. After a warm lunch, there’s a restful nap time during which the children recharge their energy for the rest of the day.

In the afternoon, creative activities, group play, and exciting projects invite children to discover new things and experience a sense of community. All children are with us between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.—we make the most of this core time to learn, explore, and grow together. After that, the day winds down in its own unique way, depending on the pickup time.

The daycare center is located at Baumpieperweg 5, 21149 Hamburg, in the Fischbeker Heidbrook development area (Neugraben-Fischbek district). In this wonderful location right next to the Fischbeker Heide, children find a nature-rich environment that invites them to explore, play, and feel at home.

Neugraben-Fischbek is very easily accessible by S-Bahn and bus lines. The daycare center is located near the Neugraben S-Bahn station, from which buses run to the surrounding residential areas. This makes us easily accessible from both the neighborhood and neighboring districts. Bus line 240, for example, runs through Fischbeker Heidbrook and stops very close by (including on the street “Im Fischbeker Heidbrook”). From there, parents can reach the daycare center in just a few minutes. The buses connect the neighborhood to the Neugraben S-Bahn station (Line S3), making it possible to travel here by public transit from other parts of Hamburg.

Good to know: In Hamburg, every child from their first birthday until they start school has a legal right to a daycare spot—and thus also to a daycare voucher. This means that at least 5 hours of daily care, including a hot lunch, are guaranteed for all children starting on their first birthday, regardless of whether their parents work. If you need longer care hours—for example, 6, 8, or 10 hours a day—you can also apply for a voucher. This usually requires proof of the additional need, such as employment or special educational needs.
