The Stadtküken Sülldorf Daycare Center in Hamburg will welcome about 80 children.

The children are divided into two nursery groups for the youngest children, ages 0–3 (15 children per group), and two elementary groups for children ages 3–6 (approximately 25 children per group). Thanks to our cohesive group structure, every child quickly finds a sense of security and direction and can feel safe within this familiar community.

Our Sülldorf daycare center is expected to be open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Each day. With our family-friendly care hours, we aim to ease the burden on families in their daily lives and provide children with a loving, reliable environment throughout the day.

At the Stadtküken Daycare Center in Sülldorf, our care is based on three pillars: nature, mindfulness, and active participation. The children spend a lot of time outdoors and explore their surroundings with all their senses. At the same time, we create a daily routine with rituals that provide a sense of security, as well as moments of calm and attention in which every child is acknowledged. And because children are allowed to help shape their experiences from the very beginning, we involve them in decisions in an age-appropriate way, thereby gradually building their self-confidence and independence.

At our Sülldorf daycare center, just as at all Stadtküken daycare centers, we want to give the children a calm and loving start to their day. Starting at 7:00 a.m., we warmly welcome the first children. During the free play time that follows, they can settle in at their own pace, get their bearings, and make their first connections.

Around 9:00 a.m., we gather for our morning circle—a regular time to greet one another, listen to each other, and start the day together. After that, we usually head outside: to our large outdoor area or into the green surroundings of Billstedt. There, the children have space to play, explore, and experience nature with all their senses.

A warm lunch is followed by a rest period, and in the afternoon, creative activities, group play, and small projects round out the day. All the children are here between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.—we make the most of this time to learn, discover, and grow together.

Our Sülldorf daycare center is located in western Hamburg, in a quiet, family-oriented residential neighborhood. The address is Sülldorfer Landstraße 126–128, 22589 Hamburg. The neighborhood is characterized by single-family homes, townhouses, and small apartment buildings—with established residential areas that give the district a village-like, relaxed atmosphere. There are playgrounds and small green spaces nearby, and all around Sülldorf, meadows, pastures, and wooded areas invite children to take short walks into nature—all the way to Klövensteen.

Our Sülldorf daycare center is easily accessible by bus and train—both from the immediate neighborhood and from surrounding neighborhoods. Just a few hundred meters away is the Iserbrook S-Bahn station (S1), which offers direct service to downtown Hamburg and other parts of the city. In addition, bus routes run along Sülldorfer Landstraße near the daycare center, so parents and staff have short commutes. The daycare center is also easily accessible on foot or by bike: sidewalks and bike paths on both sides of the street ensure a safe and convenient connection.

You can apply for the daycare voucher at your local district office. Good to know: In Hamburg, every child from their first birthday until they start school has a legal right to a daycare spot—and therefore also to a daycare voucher. This means: Every child aged one and older is entitled to at least 5 hours of care per day, including a hot lunch—regardless of whether the parents are employed.
If you need longer care hours, for example 6, 8, or 10 hours a day, you can apply for an extended voucher. In this case, proof of the additional childcare need is usually required—such as employment, education, or special educational needs.
